These Certified Organic Farms are located right next to THE IMPOSSIBLE NATIONAL PARK, a protected natural forest which is the refuge of more than 500 species of butterflies, almost 300 species of birds and 30 species of mammals that in the past where typical of El Salvador's territory and today are in danger of becoming extinct like the little tiger, the puma, la tayra and the wild pork which together with eagles, pajuiles, black crest, white gavilanes, rey zopes and other 115 species of birds in danger, find their last refugee in El Impossible, one of the most important natural reservoirs not only of El Salvador but of Mesoamerica. COFINANZAS is working hand on hand with Salvanatura to make sure that the organic agricultural practices performed all year around in Las Pozas and Maxtapulat do not interfere with the important Eco-system of El Imposible National Park which since 1991 has been under the care of Salvanatura and The National Parks Service Department who is in charge of protecting and conserving the forest and its wild life.
